A lot of the old barns around Nova Scotia are made from untreated Hemlock. If you wish to treat the hemlock to extend its lifespan, there are a lot of options. Linseed oil, Mineral oil and Hemp seed oil are a few examples of organic options. if you are growing edible plants in your raised bed, this might be a good idea.
